The app
Is GPS Map Camera really free?
Yes. Every feature in the app today is free, with no ads, no sign-up and no app watermark on your photos. Optional tips through Google Play help pay for development; they unlock nothing.
Does GPS Map Camera show ads?
No, and it never will. There are no banner or full-screen ads and no advertising ID. Being ad-free is a principle of the app, not a paid upgrade.
Does it add a watermark or app logo to my photos?
No. The stamp shows only what you choose — map, address, coordinates, time, weather, your note. No app branding is added.
Is there an iPhone version?
Coming soon. GPS Map Camera is on Android today; leave your email at freegpsmapcamera.com/ios and we’ll tell you when the iPhone app launches.
What is the best free GPS camera app without ads?
GPS Map Camera is a free GPS camera app for Android with no ads and no watermark. It stamps the map, address, coordinates, date and time on photos and videos, in 12 languages.
Which languages does it support?
Twelve: English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Indonesian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Turkish, with fonts that render each script correctly.
Location & stamp
How do I add location and time to a photo on Android?
Install GPS Map Camera, allow camera and precise location, wait for the green “Ready” chip and take the photo. The address, coordinates, date and time are printed on the picture.
What can the stamp show?
A map or satellite tile, the place name and full address, latitude and longitude (decimal, DMS, DDM, UTM, MGRS or Plus Code), date and time, weather, GPS accuracy, altitude, compass heading, sun times and your own note.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. GPS needs no internet, so coordinates, date and time are stamped offline. The street address, map and weather need a connection to look up.
How accurate is the GPS location?
It uses your phone’s GPS, usually accurate to 3–10 metres outdoors. The camera shows the live accuracy and can warn or block capture when it is worse than a limit you set.
Can I change or fake the location on the stamp?
No. The stamp records where the phone actually is when you take the photo. For an old photo without a stored location you can add your current one, and the stamp then says “location added later”.
Can I add the GPS stamp to photos I already took?
Yes. Use “Stamp an existing photo” from the app’s gallery or the Android share menu. The app uses the location and date stored in the photo and saves a new copy; the original is untouched.
Is the location saved inside the photo file too?
Yes. Besides the visible stamp, the GPS position and original date are written to the photo’s EXIF data.
Privacy
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Photos and videos stay on your phone and only leave it when you send them yourself, or attach one to a feedback message.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up. The app works as soon as you allow camera and location.
How do I delete my data?
Send a request from the app (Settings → Send feedback) or by email. We delete the records linked to your install within 30 days. See the Delete my data page for details.
